 Here in this series we are back with third useful tech by HALTIAN. Finland based IoT startup company Haltian, created what could be the best non-smartphone out there. Snowfox is a screenless trackerphone with only one button that tracks your child’s every move.

Without any extras like the typical smartphones have, Smartfox uses GPS and a phone, allowing independence and peace of mind.


The device comes with a free smartphone application that shows the child’s location on a map . It sends notifications to multiple users at anytime of the day.
The trackerphone is available in 10 countries now: USA, Canada, UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Boasting a long battery life, it can go a week without charging, and a powerful antenna provides real-time tracking, allowing up to four people to track one child.
The antenna is inside of its fabric tag making better clearance for the antenna and improving the device. With two LED lights, one for a USB charging and the other shows that the device has responded to the call button being pushed.


How To Use Snowfox The Screenless Trackerphone

·         Ready out-of-box, just download Snowfox mobile application available on Android Google Play and Apple App Store.

·         Using your local operator networks you can start receiving data right away on your child.

·         You can call your child at anytime, with only one button children learn to use Snowfox easily.

·         The child call press the call-me button and the parents will receive a notification to call their child.


The screenless smartphone comes with an embedded SIM and local operator subscription built-in. You do is add the device to your application and you are set. The monthly subscription is $9.90 USD.

You can add multiple Snowfox devices to your app, and track multiple members showing everyone in your family in the same view. It also allows you to add specific locations to your device and then receive notifications when the person have entered or left the building.

The device is equipped with micro USB charging, a 820 mAp battery, IHF speaker and microphone, 3G HSPA (950, 1900 in USA and Canada, and the rest of the world has 3G HSPA (900 1800).

Their Indiegogo starter can be found at google. They have a goal of $50,000 and have reached $12,942 of that. The device will run €149 (RRP).

With so many children spending less time outside and more time inside on devices, this screenless smartphone can bring more children back in touch with the outdoors and nature. There was a time when I was little and I remember the streetlights coming on meant I had to go home. Our children now a days do not know the simple times of the past, hopefully this device can bring a bit of that back.
